Chit, Chat & Chop

Over the weekend I discovered a way to use "Costco" and "local food" in the same sentence...The new Costco in Saint John carries a selection of New Brunswick-made artisanal cheeses. My favourite find is a sheep's milk cheese called Sieur Duplessis. It's made near Sainte-Marie-de-Kent.

Here's a little write up on it

Thanks Cindy. Is she a vendor inside or outside? (I want to make sure I can find her on Saturday). Also, does she carry any other NB cheeses?
She is usually outside on the verandah. She carries NB cheeses and wine.

The City Market cheese shop SHOULD be carrying all these artisanal NB cheeses. Also, why don't the local Sobey's and Superstore? There's a bunch of really good stuff being made here in NB.

Peter Smit sells cheese from one producer at happinez wine bar, and I know Opera Bistro has offered NB cheeses, but, really, it's far too hard to get these delicious local products. It should be easy.
Agreed Craig, seems like it should easier to get New Brunswick cheese in New Brunswick. Funny that Costco of all places is leading the way.
Bridget,
Linda Nadj also has some amazing New Brunswick blue cheese "Gai Bleu" & "La Dune" which is like a camenbert
but better ! The label has a picture of the Buctouche dune a great spot to visit in the summer.
but
The BEST find that Linda has is her own exclusive cheddar cheese & herb mini crackers to go with all those cheeses !!!
Yummy.
Bon appetit, Jennifer
Thanks Jennifer. I'll look for them this Saturday.
