Recommended Reading - The Omnivor'es Dilemma
Recommended Reading: The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan. There's a fascinating section on the workings of a self sustaining organic farm as well as a section on hunting wild mushrooms. Pollan is a great writer and I would also recommend other books by this author such as "In Defence of Food" and "The Botany of Desire".

In Defense of food is one of my favorites, I love the guidelines for grocery shopping.... Don't buy it if your Great Grandmother wouldn't recognize it as food....and don't buy it if you can't pronounce the ingredients. He also suggests that foods that boast health claims of any sort on the box/carton/bag should be avoided in most cases... the best food to buy doesn't need them!
